Why was this medal given to you?

A small object can be part of a gesture of care, gratitude or encouragement.

In giving you this medal, someone wanted to introduce you to St Jude and share an invitation to hope. In Catholic tradition, St Jude is especially invoked by people facing difficult situations.

Christians ask him to intercede for them before God. He does not take the place of Christ; he invites us to turn to Christ.

There is nothing to buy, nothing to give in return and nothing you need to do to keep this medal. You are free to discover its meaning at your own pace.

An essential marker

A sign of faith, not a good-luck charm

This medal is neither a talisman nor a magical object. It does not guarantee a miracle, a healing or the resolution of a difficulty.

In the Catholic faith, our trust rests in God, not in an object. The medal can remind us of his presence, encourage us to pray and invite us to follow Christ after the example of St Jude.

You may wear it or keep it respectfully. You can also discover its meaning even if you do not yet know how to pray. You do not have to read every page of this site.

An initiative born of gratitude and sharing

Saint Jude Medals grew out of a personal desire to thank God for help received through the intercession of St Jude.

Its purpose is simple: to give medals away, to make this apostle better known and to offer a few accessible guides to Christian prayer.

The medals are free. They are never sold.

If this gift has touched you, you can tell someone close to you about it, share this site or take a moment to pray for someone. Everyone is free to carry this invitation forward in their own way.
